Kathleen “Kitty” Robinson, 91, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, in Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.
She was born Feb. 13, 1923, in Bellefontaine, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna E. McCarthy Ryan.
On Aug. 2, 1942, she married Gene Ramsey Robinson in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2006. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Burlage.
She is survived by four children, David (Pat) Robinson of Flat Rock, N.C., Steve (Kathy) Robinson and Jill (Rick) Hatcher, both of Bellefontaine, and Scott (Rita) Robinson of Russells Point; seven grandchildren; Krista (Kyle) Wade, Jennifer (Andy) Hand, Sara (Joe) Clair, Brett (Sarah) Hatcher, Alisa Hatcher, Nicole Bickham and Ben Bickham.
She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bellefontaine, and was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society as well as the King’s Daughters, the Rake and Hoe Garden Club and she enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge club. She was an avid bowler at T-P Lanes, which she and her husband owned, as well as the City Market. She was an avid golfer at the former Bellefontaine Country Club. Every weekend in the fall for 12 years, she and Gene would travel to watch their sons play football including high school and then later at Ohio University in Athens. She also loved to grow and care for her rose garden.
A graveside service is set at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Cemetery, Bellefontaine. with Deacon Harold Dipple officiating.
