Roberta Linda Magoto, 77, of Quincy, passed away at her residence at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014, after a battle with cancer.
She was born in Rosewood on Feb. 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Reuel and Hazel Zerkle Buck. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Stonerock; and two brothers, Robert Buck and Carroll Ray Buck.
On June 23, 1956, she was married to Raymond Magoto and he survives, along with seven children, Melody (Ronald) Wood of Greenville, Mich., Tamara Magoto of Quincy, Charles (Vikki) Magoto of Sidney, Thomas (Laura) Magoto of DeGraff, Linda (Terry) Wallace of Cartersville, Ga., Rebecca (Charles) Crist of Dublin and Christa (Douglas) Paquette of Merriville, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A 1955 graduate of Harrison-Adams High School in Rosewood, she was a homemaker and a cook at Indian Lake Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1999. She loved to travel.
She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, where the Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer officiates a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Burial follows at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, Sidney.
