Edna Kathryn Godwin, 97, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.
She was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Logan County to the late James C. and Luella Houchin Foulk.
On July 17, 1933, she married Harold W. Godwin in New Port, Ky., and he preceded her in death May 3, 1997. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Russell and Gail Foulk; a half-brother, Harold Foulk; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Godwin.
Surviving are her sons, Eugene H. and Fred W. (Mardell) Godwin, both of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey (Kathy) Godwin of Albuquerque, N.M., Tammy (Tom) Allison and Dale Godwin, both of Bellefontaine, Wesley (Stephanie) Godwin of DeGraff, April Sutliff of Bradenton, Fla., Christine (Larry) Carver of Candler, Fla., and Lisa (Mike) Slagle of Lakeview; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
She worked for Monarch Engineering, A.J. Miller and Mary Rutan Hospital in housekeeping for 20 years.
She was a member of the First Church of God and O.E.S. Chapter 459. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, crafts, crossword puzzles and traveling with her husband, Harold.
Pastor Ron Irick officiates a 1 p.m. Monday service at Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where calling is two hours prior to the service. Burial is in Zanesfield Cemetery.
Family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Logan Acres Foundation Gazebo Fund, 2739 County Road 91, Bellefontaine OH 43311.
