Ronald “Pops” Williams, 77, of Clover, S.C., and formerly of Lewistown, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Agape Hospice House in Rock Hill, S.C.
He was born in Springfield, Mass., on Dec. 17, 1936, a son of the late Charles and Elsie Williams. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Isabel Annie Maxwell Williams, on Sept. 7, 1991; his second wife, Jennifer Sue Lehew Harris on Nov. 6, 2012; a brother, Jim Williams; and a sister, Beatrice Bell.
Ron is survived by his wife, Betty Mills Williams; a son, Charles L. Williams of Lewistown; a daughter, Rene Williams of Jackson Center; stepchildren, Opal Williams of Cherryville, N.C., and Mike Coxey and Steve Coxey, both of Clover, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and a nephew, Dave Bell.
Ron was a 1954 graduate of Huntsville High School and a United States Air Force veteran serving as a radar technician. He was a manufacturing service technician. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, dancing, his pet dogs, working on his property, and was a practical joker.
Ron was a member and past master of the Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge in Belle Center, was a member of the Valley of Dayton Scottish Rite, Antioch Shrine in Dayton, Antioch Shrine Funster Clown Unit and the Royal Order of Jester’s Court 10 in Dayton.
Per his wishes, private inurnment is at a later date.
