Alice Delores Martin, 85, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at her home.
She was born in Springfield on Sept. 11, 1928, to the late Oliver H. and Mary Luella Tuttle Rhoads.
On Sept. 4, 1946, she married James Richard Martin and he preceded her in death April 4, 1978. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marie Martin; two sisters, Patricia and Annamary; and two brothers, Oliver Ralph Rhoads and one in infancy.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Louise Deffenbaugh and Donna Eileen Lethcoe; three sons, James Michael Martin, John Lee (Barb) Martin and Karl R. (Merilyn) Martin Sr.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Roberta Boley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice had worked in food service at Logan Acres Care Center and had a passion for horses. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A graveside service is conducted at noon Saturday at Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
