Sylvia A. Wroten, 67, of Bellefontaine, and formerly of DeGraff, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at home.
She was born in Bellefontaine on Sept. 9, 1946, to the late Ralph Edward and Georgia Insley Stamm. She also was preceded in death by her son, James “J.R.” Lamb; and stepmother, Margaret “Peg” Wise.
She is survived by her children, Terri Lamb and David (Stephanie) Lamb, both of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren, Tara Snyder, Megan (Michael) Albert, Amanda Lamb and Austin Lamb; four great-grandchildren, Crosley, Cason, Cruz and Olivia; a brother, Ray (Linda) Stamm of Bellefontaine; stepbrothers, Joe (Karen) Wise of Cridersville and Ron (Linda) Wise of Belle Center; and a stepdaughter, Stephanie (John) Butler of Bellefontaine.
Sylvia retired from Siemens following 25 years of service. She had owned and operated the Morning Glory and Village Pantry Restaurant in DeGraff, worked as a receptionist at All Around Accounting and most recently worked as a security guard for Acrux.
She enjoyed the beach, reading, collecting teddy bears, completing crossword puzzles, and watching OSU football and Law & Order.
Sylvia was instrumental in starting the Lakeview Santa’s Workshop and loved playing Mrs. Claus for the kids. She was affectionately referred to as “Grandma Fifi” by her grandkids.
Pastor Dwight Metzger and Bud Jackson officiate a funeral at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
