Wanda B. Fetters, 79, of Bellefontaine, passed away unexpectedly at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1934, in Owsley County, Ky., to the late William T. and Otie Mae Mainous Cecil. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Darius Cecil; former husband, Duane Fetters; and a grandchild, Tracy Daniels.
She is survived by her son, Doug Fetters of Lakeview; her daughter, Duanea (Ted) Daniels of DeGraff; eight grandchildren, Andrea (Bobby) Deck, Daniel Blausey, Diana (Joel) Shoffstall, Emily Fetters, Allison Fetters, Stacia High, Cameron Daniels and Keauna Daniels, five great-grandchildren, Kent Ary, Cambrie Blausey, Caden Blausey, Jordyn Blausey and Elizabeth Shoffstall; and her special friend, Raymond Orahood.
Wanda was a 1953 graduate of West Carrollton Schools and retired as a secretary for Kettering City Schools after 23 years of service. Her greatest joys were her family and friends. She was very involved with First Christian Church, holding positions such as president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, chair of the World Outreach Committee, and a member of the Fidelis Class. She served as a Mary Rutan Hospital Guild volunteer for several years and won the RSVP Volunteer of the Year award in 2012 for her volunteer service.
In her younger years, Wanda was a world traveler and visited places that most of us just dream of. Now, in the arms of her Lord and Savior, she’s finally reached the place that she most often dreamed of.
Pastor F. Michael Valentine conducts a funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Bellefontaine. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, and at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church.
