David Nesser, 88, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at The OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born in Columbus on June 10, 1925, to the late Fred and Theresa Schmidt Nesser.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Waneta Bowers Nesser; three children; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joann Budd of Westerville and Posey Langley of West Virginia.
A native of Columbus, Dave was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and graduate of The Ohio State University. He was a soil conservationist for 30 years and was devoted to conservation and the outdoors. Dave had also worked for the Logan County Health District for several years.
Honoring Dave’s wishes, there is no viewing. Pastor Dana Kidder officiates a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Logansville Community Church, 9343 W. State Route 47, DeGraff.
Memorial contribution may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York NY 10016, or to charities of the donors’ choices.
