Elva M. Bollack, 97, formerly of North Lewisburg, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.
She was born in Miami County on March 9, 1916, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Etta Davis Karns. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bollack; her children, Mary Ann Bollack and Jim Niswonger; granddaughter, Stacie Faulder; stepchildren, Katie Blamer and John Bollack; and her siblings, Catherine Phillips and Herb Karns.
She was dearly loved by her family. Her survivors include, her daughter, Judy (Rodney) McGill of Urbana; her sons, Lynn (Susan) Niswonger and Lee (Debby) Niswonger, both of DeGraff, and Larry (Louise) Niswonger of Bellefontaine; stepson, Carly (Linda) Bollack; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Raymond, Elva enjoyed living in Cherry Arbors, walking, word puzzles and was an avid reader.
Elva will be fondly remembered by the North Lewisburg community as the “Can Lady” for her efforts to keep the community clean.
Visitation is two hours prior to a funeral at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Vernon Funeral Home, North Lewisburg.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery.
