Mark “Sparky” Anthony Cummings, 39, of Ridgeway, died Feb. 9, 2014, at Milcrest Nursing Center, after an extended illness.
He was born in Kenton on May 13, 1974, and is survived by his father and stepmother, Richard “Dick” and Marlene Cummings of Mt. Victory. He was preceded in death in 1990 by his mother, Maxine Cox Cummings.
Survivors also include one brother, Allen Herschel (Phyllis) Cummings of Kenton, and three sisters, Elane (Rowe) Buroker of Mt. Victory, Christy (Stu) Gray of Richwood and Rhonda (Bill) Butterfield of Kenton; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Jimmy Snyder and his fiancée Faith Yarger, Josh Snyder and family, and numerous other friends.
A graduate of Ridgemont High School and Ohio Hi-Point Joint Vocational School, he worked at Hardin Motors in Mt. Victory for 19 years, until the time of his illness.
He loved to joke. He was a caring person and loved Christmas and giving gifts. He also loved classic cars and had a room in his home dedicated to them. His most cherished procession was his 1973 Mach I which he helped restore with his father.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Home, Mt. Victory, where a funeral begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial follows in Claibourne Cemetery in Richwood.
