Martha L. Shaner, 89, of Jackson Center, passed away at 8:32 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Fair Haven Shelby County Home, Sidney.
She was born in Logan County on Aug. 27, 1924, to the late Lewis and Louisa Gross Metz.
On April 5, 1947, she married Roy A. Shaner and he preceded her in death Feb. 26, 2003. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Maddy; one sister; and two brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Marcia (Dan) Burch of Lewistown; two sons, Rick (Patricia) Shaner of Alaska and Tom (Pam) Shaner of Jackson Center; a son-in-law, Tom Maddy of Sidney; nine grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha was a seamstress and member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra.
Pastor Shannon Vogelezang conducts a funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Montra. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike St., Jackson Center. Burial is in Emanuel Cemetery in Montra.
