Jackie June Stokes Cole, 75, of Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Friday morning, Jan. 31, 2014, while at her home.

Jackie was born in Bellefontaine on Aug. 4, 1938, to the late Homer C. and Kathryn Ross Johnson.

In 1957, she married Louis Paul Stokes and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1972. On June 7, 1980, she married Harold E. Cole and he preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 2010. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Martz and Cheryl Beech.

She is survived by three sons, Louis Paul (Sandy) Stokes of Chesapeake, Va., Max Kurtis (Penny) Stokes of Huntsville and William Eric (Tiffany) Stokes of Lewistown; seven grandchildren, Holly Stokes, Brooke Stokes, Scott (Kim) Stokes, Amanda (Craig) Hegyi, Darrin Huber, Christy Huber and Stephanie Huber; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jean Maxwell of West Liberty, Dorothy (Earl) Martz of Huntsville and Patty (Bernard) Shirk of Bellefontaine; sister-in-law, Betty (Tommy) Rucks of Okeechobee, Fla.; best friends, Ruth Ann Beech, Roger Beech and Bob Beech; and her card playing pals and numerous friends.

Jackie was a 1956 graduate of Huntsville Local Schools and a member of Huntsville United Methodist Church. She retired from AAA in Bellefontaine. She enjoyed traveling, antiquing and playing cards.

She was an avid sports fan and when she was younger, she was an accomplished horse rider. She loved to watch her grandchildren’s activities.

The Rev. Bryan Meadows leads a memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Huntsville United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
