Jacqueline R. Thompson, 87, of Huntsville, formerly of Van Wert, died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Van Wert, a daughter of the late Ivan Sam and Ethel Rose Putman Mahan.
On Dec. 14, 1984, she married Don R. Thompson, who survives in Huntsville, along with one son, Todd (Deb) McFarland of Waterford, Mich.; two grandchildren, Joshua T. (Megan) McFarland of Midland, Mich., and Caitlin N. McFarland, Waterford, Mich.
Jackie was employed as an office administrator for both the late Dr. F.A. McCammon and the former Aeroquip Corporation. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Van Wert.
She was a volunteer with many charitable organizations in and around the Indian Lake and Huntsville area, including the Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Rev. Paul Miller officiates a funeral at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert, where visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial is in Ridge Cemetery, rural Van Wert County.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to Our Daily Bread or the Food Pantry in the Indian Lake area and to the First United Methodist Church, Van Wert.
