Robert E. Morris, 76, of Lakeview, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 30, 2013, at his home while surrounded by his family.
Robert was born in Wapakoneta on Dec. 16, 1937, to the late Willard C. and Dorothea A. Berry Morris. He married the former Barbara A. Hower on April 29, 1960, in Lakeview, and she preceded him in death April 3, 2005.
He is survived by three daughters, Annette Stedry and Jill Morris, both of Lakeview, and Jennifer (Frank) Jacobs of Bellefontaine; two sons, Allen (Stephanie) Morris of Lakeview and Steven Morris of Crossville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Donald (Hannah) Stedry, Brandi Stedry, Devon, Landon and Jessica Jacobs and Aiden Morris; and one sister, Martha A. (James Sr.) Cole of Lakeview.
Robert was a United States Navy Veteran who formerly worked for Airstream, Excello and retired from Procter and Gamble, Lima, in 1996. He was co-owner of Chippewa Trophy and Ceramics and also owned B M Custom Guitars and Wooden Horse Studio.
Robert was an artist and worked wonders with his hands. He loved motorcycles, cooking and making creations of model airplanes, carvings, tooled leather, paintings, ceramics, stained glass, photography, woodworking, carved carousel horses, scroll saw art, custom guitars and wood burning.
Per Robert’s wishes, his body was cremated. Services are at a later date, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care, Auglaize County Humane Society, American Cancer Society and the Wounded Warrior Project.
