Ivan Otho Losey, 97, of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday evening, Dec. 25, 2013, at Logan Acres.
He was born in Middleburg on July 27, 1916, to the late Pleasant Otho and Lucretia E. Marquis Losey.
He married the former Zella Ann Carpenter on April 13, 1949, in Bellefontaine, and she preceded him in death Dec. 2, 1980.
Ivan also was preceded in death by a daughter Connie L. Vice in 2011, and brothers Andrew Herman Losey and John C. Losey.
A 1935 graduate of Middleburg High School, he was a retired farmer and had also worked 13 years at Rockwell International.
He was a member of Gretna Brethren Church and supported the Logan County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Tri-County Community Action Commission.
He loved to fish, tell stories and play the harmonica.
Survivors include his second wife, Lucille M. Hathcock Losey of Bellefontaine, whom he married May 18, 1986, in Bellefontaine; his children, Ivan Howard Losey of Ohio, Ruth Ann (Ken) Cundey of Social Circle, Ga., and Thomas P. (Rebecca) Losey of Bellefontaine; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Larry Brown officiates a funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where calling is two hours prior to the service. Burial is at 11 a.m. Monday in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
