Emily Irene Koth, 80, of Lakeview and formerly of Lima, passed away at 10:29 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2013, in Lima Memorial Health Systems.
She was born in Waynesfield on Sept. 6, 1933, to the late Bassit and Edna Irene Rapp Newland.
On Feb. 9, 1952, she married Harold George Koth, who preceded her in death Jan. 19, 1995. She is survived by her special friend, Jack A. Reasor of Lakeview.
She was blessed with three daughters, Pamela (John) Honigford of Griffin, Ga., and Connie (Greg) Moor and Linda (Robert) McDonald, both of Elida; seven grandchildren, Dawn (Mark) Hines of Kalamazoo, Mich., Amy (Bart) Baxter of Rockledge, Fla.., Jennifer (Richard) Jackson of Jackson, Ga., Jamie (Ryan) Wilson of Beaufort, S.C., Jason (Amy) Moor of Lima, Melissa (Brian) Swickrath of Delphos and Patrick (Selina) Honigford of McDonough, Ga.; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bud (Marquita “Marc”) Newland of Boise, Idaho; brother-in-law, Ote Rasor of Cairo; and sister-in-law, Jane Newland of St. James City, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Newland; a sister, Shirley Rasor; and a granddaughter, Angie Louise Moor.
Emily retired from Mark IV Builders.
Her greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel, Lima. A graveside service begins at 11 a.m. Monday at Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield.
