Wanda P. Mayse, 76, of Urbana, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 7, 1937, in Sandy Hook, Ky., to the late Newte and Lura Williams Ferguson. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Delma Greene.
Wanda was a loving wife and mother whose beauty and grace touched the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Menifee Mayse Jr.; her sons, Rick Mayse and Carmen Ober and Ron (Tracy) Mayse, both of Urbana; her grandchildren, Amanda, Austin, Ashley, Joshua, Brittany, Brooke and Travis Mayse and Will Hagstrom; her great-grandchildren, Gavin Adams, Wyatt Predmore, Jonah, Ada and Liam Mayse; her brother, Woody Ferguson of South Shore, Ky.; her sisters, Lois (Doug) Stinson of Urbana, Joyce (Millard) Pope of Columbus and Leona (Danny) Stallard of South Shore, Ky.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews of several generations.
She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church, Urbana. Wanda was a devout Christian, she loved her God and family. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
The Rev. Roger Childers officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Monday in the Faith Fellowship Church, Urbana. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana. Burial is in Grandview Cemetery, Urbana.
