Hazel G. Moore, 96, of Zanesfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior from her home Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013.
Born Aug. 5, 1917, in Ridgeway, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Florence Ramsey Daniel.
She married Dennis “Herb” Moore at Greenup County, Ky., on Feb. 3, 1941. He preceded her in death in December 1972, and she missed him greatly.
Also preceding her in death are three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends.
Hazel graduated in the Ridgeway High School Class of 1935. She worked at the Boston Navy Yard while her husband was in the Armed Forces. She retired as an assembler and tester at Siemens Energy and Automation in Bellefontaine after 30 years of service.
She was an active and loved member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine since joining in 1982. Hazel traveled to many countries of the world over the years with her husband and later with friends.
She enjoyed knitting, flowers, music (played the organ and piano), reading and feeding and watching hummingbirds. Hazel was active in the community through various service organizations contributing many hours of service and donations.
She enjoyed her home in the country and, with the help of neighbors, friends and family, was able to remain there.
Hazel will be missed by so many who enjoyed her sense of humor and wonderful smile, but especially by her family who cared deeply for her.
A memorial service to celebrate her life begins at noon Wednesday at Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where calling begins at 11 a.m. Her pastor, Jeff Willetts, officiates and burial is in Plum Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Christian School.
