Mark A. Hess, 53, of West Liberty, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, in Columbus.
He was born in Urbana on Nov. 30, 1959, a son of the late Betty and Gene Hess.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Michele Oyer Hess; son, Mike (Janine) Hess; daughters, Rachael (Hans) Pullen and Sarah Hess; grandchildren, Harper, Cordi, Jared, Olivia, Mackenzie and Luke; sisters, Mary Jo (Tim) Kohl, Lora (Bob) Roush and Carol Hess; mother- and father-in-law, Donna and Dennis Oyer; brother-in-law, Shaun (Amanda) Oyer; several nephews; and many special friends.
A 1978 graduate of Graham High School, he obtained his bachelor’s degree at Warren National University. He attended the Westville United Methodist Church.
Mark was employed for 30 years with Honda of America. He and his wife were owners and operators of Mad River Farm Market, West Liberty.
Pastor Chuck Glover officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Monday at Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana, where visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial is in Union Cemetery, Cable.
