Jane E. Stewart, 76, of West Liberty, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Zanesfield on Nov. 24, 1936, to the late Ernest and Helen Theresa Quinn VanVoorhis.
On April 7, 1953, she married Donald Max Stewart in Liberty, Ind., and he preceded her in death April 25, 2011. She also was preceded in death by a son, Donald Max Stewart Jr. in 2006; a sister, Alice McGlone; and a brother, Thomas VanVoorhis.
Jane was a member of Pilgrim Fellowship Hall and loved spending time with her dog, “Lady.” She worked 20-plus years at Liberty Gathering Place as a prep cook.
Survivors include her children, Robert Allen (Belinda) Stewart of Catawba, Jeffrey Guy Stewart of Urbana, Krista Brugler and Tina Ferner, both of West Liberty and Jeannie (Scott) House of Marysville; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Suzi Baringer of Columbus, Vikki (Oscar) Alderman of Hilliard, Lois Rushworth of Bellefontaine, Penny Evans of Fairborn and Mary Carrino of Illinois; four brothers, Dave (Dorothy) VanVoorhis of Logan, Bud (Susan) VanVoorhis of Big Springs and George VanVoorhis and Tim VanVoorhis, both of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pastor Marshall Pierson officiates a graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zanesfield Cemetery.
