Betty Jean “Mudd” Park, 86, of West Liberty, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1926, a daughter of the late Theodore A. and Helen E. Patrick Royer. She also was preceded in death by her husband, George Park; son, Doug Smith; and brothers, Theodore Royer Jr. and John Lewis Royer.
She is survived by her daughter, Candy (Troy) Hanley; her grandsons, Braden Lance, Travis (Terri) Lance and Nathan (Sarah) Smith; great-grandchildren, Alexis Lance, Nickolas Lance, Mykenzie Lance and Cooper Smith; stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Hanley and Shawn Hanley; her brother, Dwight Russell Royer; sister, Wilma Elizabeth Royer Shick; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A 1944 graduate of Belle Center High School, Betty was a member of the South Union Mennonite Church, the American Legion Auxiliary 173 in Bellefontaine and the Order of the Eastern Star Bellefontaine Chapter 459.
Pastor Matthew Williams officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday at South Union Mennonite Church, where visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, followed by an OES service. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
