Eugene C. Cochran, 86, of Lakeview, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 3 2013.
He was born in Lima on Aug. 6, 1927, the son of the late Alonzo and Elsie Cochran.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Cochran, in 2012, and sisters, Maxine Mumford and Gertrude Kerner.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn (Dean) Shoffner of Winterhaven, Fla., Garry (Diana) Cochran of Madison, Ala., the Rev. Neal (Carolyn) Cochran of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Candie (Carl) Evans of Athens and Amber (Rob) Crew of Springfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Cochran; and his beloved poodle, Kayla.
Eugene retired from Navistar after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge.
Eugene was a man of the Pentecostal faith who adored his family and also was an avid NASCAR fan.
Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Funeral Home, Springfield, where a funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Neal Cochran officiating.
