Gerald “Jerry’ Everly, 83, passed away Aug. 24, 2013, at his home in Zanesfield.
He was born in Delslow, W.Va., on June 14, 1930, to the late Glenn and Gertrude Everly. He also was preceded in death by a son, Ronald; brother, Glenn Jr.; and sister, Alda.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruby; daughters, Nancy (Scott) Rees of Delaware, Peggy O’Hara of Zanesfield and Cathy (Chris) DeBoard of Simpsonville, S.C.; special son, Bill Malmstrom; sisters, Ruth (Ron) Small and Rosaline (Bill) McGee; grandchildren, Angie, Amy, Jeffrey, Benjamin, Rachel and Jordyn; and great-grandchildren, Amanda, Dylan, Taylor, Jayden, Zoe, Jasmine and Caleb.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He helped others by driving the bus for Benjamin Logan Schools sports activities.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home, 587 Main St., Groveport, where a funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment in Glen Rest Cemetery.
