Patrick “Pat” E. Hennessy, 82, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He was born in Bellefontaine on Aug. 31, 1930, to the late Norbert D. and Irene F. Hullinger Hennessy. He also was preceded in death by a son, Thomas P. Hennessy, on March 18, 1999; and a brother, Thomas J. Hennessy.
On Aug. 30, 1958, he married the former Betty Stayrook in Bellefontaine and she survives, along with their children, Rebecca “Becky” (Rick) Robison of Bellefontaine and Timothy “Tim” (Dawn) Hennessy of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Parker (Lindsey) Robison, Colin (Morgan) Robison, Bailey Robison, Morgan E. Robison, and Madison, Harrison, Kennedy and Grant Hennessy; and two great-grandchildren, Maxton and Hayes Robison.
A Bellefontaine High School graduate, Pat was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked for Conrail as an electrician.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Elks Lodge 132, American Legion Harold Kerr Post 173 and the Moose Lodge 1533.
Pat enjoyed helping other people and watching the grandchildren.
The Rev. Patrick Sheridan officiates a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Burial is in the Bellefontaine Cemetery, with military honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
