Betty J. Kennedy, 74, of Rushsylvania, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Hardin County on Dec. 16, 1938, to the late Harold and Gladys Brooks Farrington. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kennedy, on Sept. 18, 1994; a son, John Wilgus; and her siblings, Irene Grabiel, and James and Russell Farrington.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Saylor and Kim Wilgus, both of Bellefontaine; a son, Kevin (Liz Parker) Wilgus of West Mansfield; six grandchildren, Beth (Michael) Stachler, Chastity (Dean) Morris, Erica (David) Morris, Bo Wilgus, Curtis (Marianne) Wilgus and Mindy (Josh) Ray; 13 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dallas Farrington of West Mansfield, Murl Farrington of Kenton, Dick Farrington of Sandusky and Robert Farrington of Bellefontaine; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Donna Van Buskirk of Rushsylvania and Beverly Coleman of Florida.
Betty was a bus driver for the Benjamin Logan School District for 44 years and later worked at the former K&K Dairy Corner and the subsequent Vickie’s Dairy Corner in Belle Center for almost 20 years.
She was a member of the United Wagon Train and the Central Ohio Wagon Train and enjoyed crocheting, working on puzzles and showing draft horses.
Pastor Gene Phelps officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial is in the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
