Daniel Somers Carmen, 64, of Lakeview, passed away at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at his residence.
He was born in Kenton on Jan. 18, 1949, a son of the late Orville and Luella Cummings Carmen. He was preceded in death by one son, Sean Carmen.
Survivors include his four children, Daniel (Tracy) Carmen of Huntsville, Christy (Rico) Kenner and Wes (Melinda) Carmen, both of Bellefontaine, and Mandy (Aaron) Taylor of Springfield; one stepson, James (Sarah) VanZant of Sidney; 12 grandchildren, Jessie, Cici and Cayden Carmen, Emily, Ashley and Jessica Carothers, Monica, Kianna and Sierra Kenner and Ethan, Aryona and Emma Taylor; three stepgrandchildren, Kaitlynn, Cain and Carter VanZant; three sisters, MaryLou Homan of Belle Center and Cathy Guinn and Jennifer Gauntey, both of Lakeview; and two brothers, Mike Carmen and Jim Carmen, both of Belle Center.
Daniel enjoyed stock car racing and motorcycles. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of life gathering is from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Bellefontaine American Legion Post 173, 120 Colton Ave., Bellefontaine.
