Charles L. Smith, 87, of Kenton, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He was born April 3, 1926, in Holden, the son of Carl H. and Thelma L. Loomis Smith.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Bernadine, in 1997.
He was a graduate of Rosewood High School, and a veteran of World War II U.S. Navy. He retired from North American Rockwell International, and was a lifelong member of New Richland Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Mike and Linda Smith, Maria and Jim Brownfield, Margaret and Bill Grimes, Melvin and Jenni Smith, Doug and Ruth Smith, Don and Diane Smith; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jennings Farley Funeral Home, 5591 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty, where visitation is from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
