Dean Woolley, 65, of Lakeview, formerly of Sidney, passed away at 6:05 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, in the emergency room at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He was born in Sidney on June 9, 1948, a son of the late James and Dorothy Smedley Stockard. He also was preceded in death by one sister.
He is survived by one son, Brian (fiancée Ashley) Woolley of Sidney; two daughters, Tracy (Daniel) Carmen of Huntsville and Cathy (Justin) Oswalt of Belle Center; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Emily, Jessie, Michael, Shanna, Brandee, Kaci and Jayden; three brothers; and two sisters.
A 1966 graduate of Sidney High School, Dean retired as a supervisor from Sprint. He was a member of the Sidney Moose Lodge and the Bellefontaine Elks Lodge.
Dean was an avid go-kart fan and spent many hours working on them and racing them.
He loved his children and grandchildren and spending time with all of them. He will be truly missed.
A gathering of family and friends is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sidney Moose Country Club, 1200 Broadway Ave., Sidney.
