Madeline Sue Anderson, 68, of Indian Lake, passed away in her home Tuesday, May 7, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Springfield on June 1, 1944.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Robert L. Anderson; two sisters, Monica L. Barnhill and Mary Patrice Talbert, both of Springfield; and two stepchildren, Robert (Mary Evanston) Anderson of Virginia and Michelle (Brett) Foster of Texas.
She was preceded in death by two siblings, Michael Peacock and Maureen Peacock.
She retired as a programmer analyst from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1997.
She and Bob had just recently built a new home at Indian Lake and lived there with her beautiful great Dane, Mayme.
Madeline always was known for her giving attitude and love of life. That even extended beyond her death, donating her body to Wright State Medical Center so that others may study and learn and perhaps some day find a cure for this horrible disease, cancer.
A celebration of her life is at 2 p.m. May 18 at her home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the cancer organizations or hospices of the donors’ choices.
The family also would like to give special thanks to Karen and Janie and all the hospice volunteers who touched Madeline’s life.
