Jerry R. Richardson, 64, peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, surrounded by his immediate family.
He was born in Bellefontaine on Sept. 20, 1948, to the late Robert and Mary Ellen Richardson. He also was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William “Bill” Painter.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Jean Ann Jones; sons, Jon Richardson and Jeff (Jill) Richardson; grandchildren, Brock, Anna and Mae; siblings, Thomas (Mary) Lee Richardson, Suzanne Richardson-Painter and Robert Joseph (Conn) Richardson; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was generous, fun-loving, warm-hearted and was a hard worker.
Jerry was a founding member of AKS at Bluffton College and an executive director for 34 years at White Castle System Inc. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Ft. Myer, Va.
He was a member of the Columbus Athletic Club, Indian Lake Moose Lodge 1533, recent member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, and a board member of the Epilepsy Foundation of Ohio for several years.
A soul mate to his wife, baseball and life coach to his sons, and loving Papoo to his loving grandchildren, Jerry loved living more than anyone knew.
He was a good friend to all and will be deeply missed.
Father Michael Gribble is Celebrant for a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 E. Broad St., Columbus. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Columbus.
