Shirley R. Ramsey, 86, of Kenton, died at 12:08 a.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Green Hills Community, West Liberty.

She was born in Springfield on June 28, 1926, to the late Lester and Anna Opal Rogers Anderson.

On Dec. 21, 1947, she married Robert Paul Ramsey and he survives in Kenton, along with two sons, Duane E. (Terri) Ramsey of Groveport and Donald L. Ramsey of Columbus; two daughters, Debra K. (Gary) Hughes of Etna and Pamela (Gary) Goss of Lorain; three grandchildren, Michael Lee (Ginger) Goss of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jeffrey (Sheila) Hughes of Batavia and Michele (Kevin) Carley of Moses Lake, Wash.; two great-grandchildren, Angela and Sarah Carley; three brothers, Doug (Carla) Anderson of Salisbury, N.C., Gene (Becky) Anderson of Spring Hill, Fla., and Lester (Betty) Anderson of Zanesville; and two sisters, Vanda Ratliff of Kenton and Sally (Frank) Lewkowicz of Greenville, S.C.

She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Ron Roberts.

She co-pastored at Christ’s Covenant Church in Bellefontaine and at Sugar Ridge Church in Bowling Green, and was a bookkeeper for Tri-County Crop Service in Ridgeway.

She taught an interdenominational Bible study group in Kenton for 12 years. She was an officer in Women’s Aglow in Kenton, where she taught Aglow Bible studies, taught seminars in Aglow, and spoke in Aglow meetings. She ministered in nursing homes locally and in Bowling Green for many years. She also was a missionary to Belize and Guatemala, Central America, with her husband Paul and spoke in churches on missions.

The most important decision that Shirley ever made was when she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and Lord. Then her name was written in the Lamb’s book of Life in November 1962.

Grandsons Jeffrey Hughes and Michael Goss officiate a funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Home, Mt. Victory, where visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial is in Ridgeway Cemetery.
