James ‘Jim’ Wiley

James “Jim” Wiley, 73, of Ridgeway, died early Wednesday morning, Feb. 20, 2013, at Baton Rouge Health Services Community, Lima.

He was born in Union County on March 17, 1939, to the late Charles C. and Emma Dell Clapsaddle Wiley.

On March 10, 1979, he married the former Donna Long in Rushsylvania and she survives, along with a daughter, Valerie “Sis” (Jim) Cox of Richwood; seven sons, Jim (Nancy) Wiley and Scott (Lisa) Wiley, both of Richwood, Scott (Linda) Kelly, Bob (Shenan) Kelly and Dennis “Tomcat” (Robin) Kelly, all of Ridgeway, Mike “Babe” Kelly of Marysville and Toby (Tina) Kelly of Rushsylvania; his former wife, Janet Wiley of Richwood; a brother, Gene (Peg) Wiley of Richwood; a sister, Barbara Tallman of West Mansfield; 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren on the way.

A 1957 graduate of Byhalia-York High School, he had worked at B.F. Goodrich, which became Parker-Hannifan, retiring after 28 years. He then worked as a supervisor for A.P. Technoglass in Bellefontaine and retired from there as well. Jim was a farmer for many years.

He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was a big fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. He also was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Above all, family and grandchildren were most important to him.

Pastor Jeremy Geissinger officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood, where visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and two hours prior to the service Saturday. Burial is in Byhalia Cemetery.
