Christopher David Vance, 43, of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident in Columbus.
He was born in Bellefontaine on Oct. 19, 1969, to David L. and Diane “Crickett” Colyer Vance, who survive in Bellefontaine. On Aug. 19, 2000, he married Melissa Marshall in West Milton and she survives, along with their children, Mitchel, Dylan and Abigail; his siblings, Scott (Terri) Vance of Montgomery, Ala., and Melissa Schinker of Bellefontaine; his father- and mother- in-law, Jim and Linda Marshall of West Milton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A 1988 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Chris was a U.S. Army Reserve from 1988 to 1991 and served in the Operation Desert Storm. An Engineer for Honda of America Mfg. Inc., Chris worked in the Quality and Purchasing Divisions for 20 years and most recently was an Aflac Insurance Agent.
He attended the Philadelphia Lutheran Church in DeGraff as a child and later St. Patrick Catholic Church.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, target shooting and spending time with his family.
Deacon Harold Dipple officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Bellefontaine, with military services by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
