William Leo Fullerton


William Leo Fullerton, 95, of Bellefontaine, was reunited with the love of his life Friday afternoon, Dec. 28, 2012, at Green Hills Center, West Liberty.

Leo was born in Huntsville on Oct. 26, 1917, to the late Robert Tiry and Beryl Faye Morton Fullerton.

He married the former Carrie Elizabeth “Betty” Royer on July 10, 1949 in Bellefontaine and she preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2010. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Fullerton, and sisters Ruth Franks, Inez Van Horn, Lois Grimes and Joan Myers. Leo is survived by two sons, Lynn R. (Sue) Fullerton and Kent D. (Melody) Fullerton, both of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Fullerton, Ian Fullerton, Adam (Terri) Fullerton and Noah Zane (Jenny) Fullerton; seven great-grandchildren, Rylie, Rianna, Chase, Eli and Bryce Fullerton, Josh and Jordan Kauffman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A 1935 graduate of Zanesfield High School, Leo was a member of First Christian Church, Bellefontaine.

In his early years, he worked as a farmer and milk tester, sold farm equipment and seed corn. He later retired from Fullerton Realty after more than 40 years.

Leo loved music and played numerous instruments, but was best remembered for his directing and performing with the Loganairres Barbershop Chorus and the Fullertones Quartet.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. The Rev. F. Michael Valentine officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church.
