Richard R. “Elvis” Sherer, 70, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012.
He was born in Portland, Ore., on Nov. 18, 1942, to the late Francis and Virginia Barrett Sherer.
He moved to Bellefontaine as a child and was raised Catholic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and later became a very skilled craftsman and did woodworking for Stinson’s for 20-plus years.
Richard is survived by his sons, Tim (Sharon) Sherer and Tony Sherer, both of Riverside, Calif.; a daughter, Angela Beu of Colorado; three grandchildren: Aaron and Matthew Sherer and Alyson Beu; a brother, Bob (Anita) Sherer of San Diego, Calif.; and a sister, Mary (Jeff) Olthoff of Wildomar, Calif.
There are no services at this time as it was Richard’s wish to be cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
