Kay Abraham, 73, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 5:26 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Bellefontaine on March 11, 1939, to the late Virgil and Alice Newforth Knowlton. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Ross Knowlton; and stepfather, William Bowdle.
On May 8, 1960, she married Richard Abraham in Bellefontaine and he survives, along with their two sons, Scott (Julie) Abraham and Daryl (fiancée April Donnelly) Abraham, both of Bellefontaine; two grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Abraham; a sister, Ann (Wayne) Jerviss of Bellefontaine; and stepsisters, Joyce (Denny) Dyer and Noreen (Ron) Adkins, both of Vandalia.
She worked as a secretary at the CENTURY 21 The RHA Group Realty Inc. office in Bellefontaine.
She was a member of the Bellefontaine United Methodist Church, where she was active in the choir, teaching Sunday School and the King’s Daughters. She also was a poll worker and presiding judge for the Logan County Board of Elections for more than 30 years.
An avid reader and cook, she enjoyed traveling and meeting new people, and was known for faithfully sending cards to others for special occasions.
Gene Marine officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Interment is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society Serving Logan County and the American Cancer Society.
