Meryl “Jeanette” Ferguson Mentzer, 89, of Bellefontaine, went to be with her Lord at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty.
She was born in Hardin County on Nov. 26, 1922, to the late Carl and Leotta Bland Struble.
On April 14, 1940, she married Harry Ferguson and he preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1973. She married Raymond Mentzer on Aug. 19, 1974 and he died April 13, 2006. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Nina Struble and Fern Struble Hathaway; and two brothers, Raymond and Clarence Struble.
She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte (Joe) Peterman of Findlay; three sons, Larry (Carol) Ferguson of Westerville, Rick (Wilma) Ferguson of Bellefontaine and Dale (Pat) Ferguson of Richwood; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nephews.
A homemaker, Jeanette enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking. She attended the Rushsylvania Church of Christ.
Pastor Lynn Cleaveland officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment is in Hale Cemetery, Mt. Victory.
