Ohio elections chief to discuss statewide issues on ballot

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio's elections chief is expected to discuss statewide ballot issues on redistricting, marijuana legalization and monopolies that voters will decide on Nov. 3.

Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted (HYOO'-sted) plans to make remarks about the fall election and other topics at a Wednesday forum in Columbus.

Husted, who is a long-time advocate for changes to how the state draws its political districts, has said he supports the redistricting proposal known as Issue 1 on the ballot.

He has criticized a proposed constitutional amendment that would legalize marijuana for medicinal and recreational use, which is known as Issue 3.

Supporters of Issue 3 are challenging the proposal's ballot phrasing at the Ohio Supreme Court, arguing that certain words approved by Husted and the state Ballot Board are inaccurate and misleading.
