Gunmen open fire on car carrying teenagers, killing 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Two people are dead in Ohio after police say two gunmen opened fire on a car full of teenagers.

Officers responded to the shooting in west Columbus around 9:30 a.m. Monday. Investigators say the gunmen used high powered rifles, including an AK-47, to fire at a SUV carrying the teens.

Police say 17-year-old Quentin William Smith was hit during the gunfire. He was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. A Columbus City Schools spokesman says Smith was a sophomore at West High School.

Investigators found a second victim after they saw several bullet holes in a nearby home. His name has not been released.

Sicilian says police are questioning two teenagers who were in the SUV. They are currently searching for a fourth teen.
