ELIZABETHTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say they expect to resume the search for a young boy who fell into a southwest Ohio river.
Emergency crews suspended the search for the child in the Great Miami River at about 11:30 p.m. Monday and planned to resume Tuesday morning.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1pl0cmn ) reports the child, who is 8 to 10 years old, fell into the river at about 4 p.m. Monday as his family fished in Elizabethtown, west of Cincinnati, near the Ohio-Indiana line.
More than 70 emergency personnel deployed helicopters, boats and sonar to search a 2-mile stretch of the river.
Mike Siefke of the Whitewater Township Fire Department says by dark Monday, the search had turned from a rescue operation to a recovery one.
