CLARK COUNTY — The Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred about 10:35 p.m. Thursday on southbound I-675 at the I-70 overpass.

Chay DeMint, 21, of Fairborn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He reportedly was merging onto I-675 from the westbound I-70 ramp when he lost control of his pickup and drove off the left side of the road and struck a cement bridge wall.

Mr. DeMint exited his vehicle and walked around to the passenger side. A southbound pickup operated by Gregory McQueen, 28, of New Carlisle struck the right rear of the disabled pickup, which was forced into Mr. DeMint. The McQueen vehicle continued off the left side of the road and also struck the concrete bridge wall.

Mr. McQueen was transported to Soin Medical Center for non-lifethreatening injuries.

Troopers were assisted by the Mad River Township Fire and EMS, Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
