CADIZ, Ohio (AP) — Authorities continue to investigate an eastern Ohio house fire that killed two children and their mother and injured two firefighters.
The young boy and girl died of their injuries at Harrison Community Hospital after the Wednesday morning fire in Cadiz.
The Steubenville Herald-Star reports (http://bit.ly/1n0KTm1 ) the children's mother was taken to a Pittsburgh burn center where state fire marshal's office spokeswoman Lindsey Burnworth says she later died.
Two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation after the blaze.
Lorna Bower, Harrison County Emergency Management Agency, director, says some rescuers went into the house without gear because they knew victims were trapped.
Burnworth says a cause hasn't been determined yet for the fire, which started in the living room.
She says the house didn't have smoke detectors.
