CINCINNATI (AP) — The State Highway Patrol is blaming alcohol and speed for a crash that killed two people in southwestern Ohio after a driver fled police.
The patrol said the crash happened when officers from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources tried to pull a car over early Sunday evening in Clermont County.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Monday (http://cin.ci/1qNqwf6 ) the driver fled police, then lost control after cresting a hill and crashed.
The patrol says two rear-seat passengers were killed, one wearing his seatbelt and one who wasn't and was ejected.
The driver and front seat passenger were flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries. The patrol's investigation continues.
