FREMONT, Ohio (AP) — Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 33-year-old man suspected of opening fire inside a northern Ohio nightclub over the weekend, killing an off-duty police officer and two other men.
Police said Monday they are seeking Igmidio Mista in the shooting early Sunday at the Last Call Bar in Fremont, about 35 miles southeast of Toledo. The warrant charges him with three counts of murder.
Detectives say the suspect may have been in the bar for some time and gotten into a fight with another patron before he started shooting.
Killed were 26-year-old Elmore police Officer Jose Andy Chavez, 28-year-old bartender Ramiro Sanchez, and a 25-year-old customer, Daniel Ramirez.
A fourth man shot at the bar, 25-year-old Ramiro Arreola, was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
