SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a 22-year-old Springfield man told them he accidentally shot his 18-year-old brother while removing a gun from a safe.
Police say the teen suffered non-life-threatening injuries after he was shot in the abdomen and arm Wednesday evening by 22-year-old Jacob Hamm. The teen was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center and then transferred to Miami Valley Hospital for further treatment. His condition Thursday was unknown.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident and charges against Hamm are pending the findings of the investigation.
