MARYSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A court hearing is set for a man who Ohio authorities say ran over his 4-year-old son with his van after the boy fell out of the vehicle.
Natividad de Jesus Hernandez faces a preliminary charge of leaving the scene of an accident without speaking to authorities after the Dec. 26 mishap that killed his son.
The 30-year-old Hernandez was scheduled to appear Monday in Marysville Municipal Court in central Ohio.
Hernandez' attorney disputes the charge, saying a sheriff's deputy dash cam video shows Hernandez meeting police at the scene as his son is rushed into an ambulance.
The Union County prosecutor says the focus has shifted to the circumstances around the boy's death and says the video shows only part of the story.
