FRANKLIN, Ohio (AP) — Police in southwestern Ohio say a man was taken into custody after holding three people hostage in a house for nearly three hours.
Police Chief Russ Whitman said that 44-year-old Jason Cole was arrested following the Monday morning standoff in Franklin, a Warren County town between Dayton and Cincinnati.
Whitman said Cole held two adults and a 6-year-old child at gunpoint for about three hours. An adult male and the child were able to escape out a window. An adult female was released shortly afterward and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries she suffered in an assault.
Cole came out of the house just before 8 a.m. and was arrested without further incident.
Whitman said charges are pending. It wasn't clear whether Cole had an attorney yet.
