CINCINNATI (AP) — Authorities say a tractor-trailer driver has been charged with causing a fatal crash in a construction zone in Cincinnati in September.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/JGSoyQ ) reports that 41-year-old Jason Woodyard was arrested Tuesday and is expected to make an initial court appearance on Wednesday.
Police said Woodyard was speeding Sept. 29 when he lost control of his rig in the northbound lanes on Interstate 75 and caused the death of 22-year-old Zachary Byrd.
Two other motorists were critically injured. The crash occurred when one car hit a barrier wall, another car slowed down, and Woodyard's truck hit both vehicles.
Charges against the Springfield man include vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter. Online records did not include attorney information for him.
