WARREN, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio man has been sentenced to life in prison without chance of parole for strangling his mother and fatally beating and shooting his father.
Judge W. Wyatt McKay in Warren sentenced 33-year-old Louis Mann on Tuesday on his conviction in the Sept. 30, 2011, murders.
Authorities say Mann became enraged when his parents mentioned seeking custody of his daughter because of the drug involvement of her parents.
Police say Mann admitted strangling his mother with a clothesline during an argument, then hitting his father in the head with a flashlight and shooting him.
According to the Warren Tribune Chronicle (http://bit.ly/IiEwcW ), he told the judge he would give his life to have his parents back. Mann told the judge he has decided he will not appeal his conviction.
