GLOUSTER, Ohio (AP) — A southeastern Ohio man tells a Columbus TV station that he hit his father in the head with a pipe and dumped his body in a cistern under the porch.
In a jailhouse interview Tuesday, 41-year-old Paul J. Roberts told WBNS-TV (http://bit.ly/H0myLI) that he killed his father, 63-year-old Paul E. Roberts of Glouster. Then, he says, he "drug him under the deck and dropped him in the hole."
The body of the elder Roberts was found Monday during a police search at the house. An autopsy showed he was fatally beaten.
The younger Roberts is in jail on a related vandalism charge and hasn't been charged in his father's slaying. He was arrested after neighbors told police that they saw him removing property from his father's house.
